Porridge – BBC One, 21:30 

Porridge is one of the most successful BBC’s classic sitcom revivals and it comes back with a second season. For all of the fans of the old Porridge, this one is a must see.

American Hustle (2013) – Channel 4, 00:10

David O’Russell‘s movie, American Hustle, was nominated for ten Oscars, and more than 200 other awards all around the world. A con man, Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) and his partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) have to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper) in his investigation. This leads them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia. Irving’s wife is played by Jennifer Lawrence.

Alien (1979) – Film4, 00:10 – Horror, Thriller, Sci-Fi

This is a classic, if you haven’t seen it, you must. If you have seen it, watch it again! Sigourney Weaver in one of her most remembered roles, as always, provides only the best quality acting in this suspense horror movie.

 

UK TV on Saturday 7th October

Strictly Come Dancing –  BBC One, 18:35

Strictly Come Dancing is back. Can the new ones match Kellie Bright’s Star Wars Charleston, Jay McGuiness’s exhilarating Pulp Fiction jive, and the delight of Ed Balls in green face paint and a yellow suit? Can they make new memorable performances? Susan Calman’s Wonder Woman samba and Gemma Atkinson’s Jungle Book Charleston might make it. The professionals will dance a La La Land group performance. The X Factor: Boot Camp – ITV, 20:15

It is time for the bootcamp stages in front of a live audience. People will see who has the potential and this is the last try to impress before the brutal Six Chair Challenge.

Muppets Most Wanted (2014) – BBC One, 14:45

The Muppets are touring Europe when Kermit (Steve Whitmire) gets kidnapped and replaced by a doppelganger. Behind this evil plan is Ricky Gervais. The movie has great musical numbers and cool gags.

 

UK TV on Sunday 8th October

The Last Post – BBC One, 21:00

Peter Moffat’s Sixties drama continues. In this episode, an American war reporter, Martha Franklin (Essie Davis) arrives and disrupts the delicate dynamic of the military base. Insurgent leader Abdul-Kadir is a suspect for the murder of Captain Page (Joseph Kennedy).

World Cup 2018 Qualifiers: Lithuania vs England – ITV, 16:30

England has qualified for the world championship and this last game is just for fans of UK football. Even though that Wayne Rooney, who is the top scorer of England has retired from the international career, there are still great young players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli that have grown. Watch it Live or on Catch Up.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2014) – Channel 4, 23:05 – Adventure, Comedy, Drama

A beautiful movie starring Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig. When Walter’s job and of his friends is endangered, he goes on an amazing journey.

Dial M for Murder (1954) – BBC Two, 13:15 – Crime, Thriller

Directed by Hitchcock, this thriller is quite a suspense. Tony Wendice (Ray Milland) wants to see his wife Margot (Grace Kelly) murdered because she had an affair with a writer. When his plan fails Tony improvises and comes up with an even more deviant plan.
