What are the best TV picks on Friday 27th October

Bear Grylls and Anthony Joshua

Bear’s Mission with Anthony Joshua – ITV, 21:00

Anthony Joshua is a heavyweight champion of the world but can he endure more than Bear Grylls in the wilderness. Bear takes him out into the wild for two days and Anthony gets to eat maggots and find his way through nature. Many of us think that to survive is an easy thing, you just do it. Well, I would dare to say otherwise, we should all learn some basics to improve our knowledge and connect to nature that we so gladly cast away. No need to eat maggots though.

grahamnorton

The Graham Norton Show – BBC One, 22:35

TV picks of the weekend

Horrible Bosses – ITV 2 – 21:00

A great black comedy that tells us the story of three friends who start to conspire murder of their bosses. The movie was directed by Seth Gordon and is starring Jennifer Anniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey. It is a nice comedy to pass the day and you may get some laughs, especially if you had a terrible boss.

TV Picks of the weekend

Red 2 – Film4 – 20:00

Retired C.I.A. Agent Frank Moses reunites his team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. It is an action/comedy/crime movie with an amazing cast: Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Hellen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, and Mary-Louise Parker. The humour is intriguing and the movie exhilarating. There is a bit of fun and action for everyone’s’ taste.

In the second part of the historical series, the net around the Catholic conspirators is narrowing by the King’s network of spies. Catesby and Wintour are trying to recruit more allies to their cause. Lord Cecil puts pressure on Lady Anne. Upon their return, the plotters convene for the first time, and at the meeting, they decide that the moment to strike must be November 5, at the opening of the Parliament. But they need to secure gunpowder. Catesby puts his life on the line in a mission at the Tower of London.

TV Picks of the weekend

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers – ITV2, 17:45

The second part of the famous trilogy. A story that travelled the world and won a lot of hearts. The movie needs no introduction, but I must say, this is a personal favourite of mine because it has a lot of great fight scenes and touching moments. Some people think that Lord of the Rings (LOTR) and Tolkien’s imaginary world is just a metaphor of the First World War and the evil that emerged. Lotr has certainly deserved its place in our TV picks of the weekend.

TV picks of the weekend

Thunderbirds Are Go – ITV, 15:00

In the future, the Tracy family run a private mechanized emergency response service. In this one, Virgil is sent to make a rescue when a sandstorm strikes. Since Virgil gets grounded, it is up to Grandma Tracy to take charge of Thunderbird and save the day. Read more about Thunderbirds Are Go here.

This is the story of a British army unit that is fighting a Yemeni insurgency in the Middle East and the women and children who were there with them in Aden, 1965.

matchoftheday

Match of the Day – BBC One, 21:30

It’s time for Mark Chapman to review the latest Premier League matches featuring Leicester City vs Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion vs Southampton at the Amex Stadium. The Toffees and the Foxes are currently in the lower half of the table because of a challenging opening set of games. Brighton and Southampton also need points to move away from the relegation zone.

TV picks of the weekend

Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King – ITV2, 18:05

This is the third part of the famous trilogy. Gandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron’s army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring. The movie stars Viggo Mortensen, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett, Ian McKellen, and Liv Tyler. The movie is intense and full of drama and emotion. It is recommended to both action lovers, and romance enthusiasts. The never-ending jokes between Gimli and Legolas bring a touch of humour to the movie whilst the overall note of the movie resides in nobility and hope.

TV picks of the weekend

Die Hard 2 – E 4, 21:00

The second part of the famous franchise found its way amongst our TV picks of the weekend. Bruce Willis plays John McClane attempts to avert a disaster as rogue military operatives seize control of Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. Die Hard 2 is as exciting as Die Hard. The famous franchise shall never stop entertaining us. Die Hard shows us how one man can make a difference if he wants it. It shows us the true strength of determination and courage.
