A staggering 20% of 14 year olds in the UK are categorised as ‘obese’ with a further 15% as overweight. This however is only the tip of the iceberg, 24.8% of adults in the UK are obese and a further 40% are overweight. The UK is clearly suffering an epidemic with overeating and poor diets. In fact, the UK is the most obese country in all of Western Europe and ranked 6th in the world. The obesity rate is increasing faster than even that of the USA.

On the 23rd June 2016 the UK stunned not only Europe, but the world, when it announced that 51.9% of the voting public had democratically elected to leave the European Union. The London School of Economics stated one of the top factors for voting ‘Leave’ was a voters ethnicity, a large proportion of white British people in the UK voted this way. A far less proportion of voters from other background voted to leave.
