Love Island – Valentines Day

Friday, 9pm, ITV2

Tue, February 11th, 2020

Casa Amor has been and gone with the boys from the main villa moving out for 5 days to meet a new group of girls. Casa Amor is labelled as the ultimate relationship test, and sure enough a whole bunch of the relationships forged in the villa fell apart.

Shaughna and Callum were the most high profile couple to split after Callum found a deeper connection with new girl Molly in 3 days than he had with Shaughna in 3 weeks together.

Another surprise saw Nas abandon his newly formed but blossoming partnership with Demi, to bring back Eva to the villa with a devastated Demi shocked by his decision. Despite Nas’ popularity with the islanders, and previously the public, ditching Demi backfired as Nas and Eva were ditched from the island after a public vote.

Not as much of a surprise was the fact that Mike managed to find yet another perfect woman to confess his undying love for. The police officer has made quick moves from one girl to another in the villa, making him seem untrustworthy especially to former interest Jess.

Luke was also more than happy to move on to a new couple with Natalia after Jess had doubts about their future and had chosen to kiss Mike in a challenge instead of him. Unlucky in love in South Africa so far, Luke from Redcar in Teesside, has since found a new interest with Demi after returning to the main villa.

Two of the strongest couples in the series so far Finn and Paige and Luke T and Sianesse, survived the Casa Amor test and have come out of the other side as contenders to win the show and the £50,000 prize.

In tonight’s show we get to see a Valentine’s Day edition for the first time, as this is the first winter version of the hugely popular dating show. All previous series have taken part in the summer months on the Spanish Island of Majorca.

In the winter version, the contestants are in a new villa built in South Africa. The villa is notable for its huge size, and epic views.

While there are no confirmed events for the Valentine’s Day edition of the show, it seems likely that several of the couples will be allowed to leave the villa and go out on dates set up by the producers. It also seems likely being Valentine’s Day that one lucky couple will be chosen by fellow islanders to spend the night in the Hideaway – a luxurious private room where the couples can spend some one-on-one time.
