Tuesday 8pm – 9.15pm, Channel 4
It’s the last in the series from the baking tent where Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding welcome boxer Nicola Adams, actor Greg Wise, journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy and actor Greg Wise. The first challenge is for a fruity drizzle cake, a tough technical challenge awaits before the contestants are required to create a towering biscuit version of themselves in the final challenge. Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will judge the efforts and decide who will follow previous victors Michelle Keegan and Russell Brand as winner of the show.
Tuesday 11pm – 12am, BBC4
This documentary follows expert scientists as they study some of the worlds most active and dangerous volcanoes in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The first episode in the two part series starts at Nyiragongo which has erupted twice in the past 50 years, the most recent being 2002 where it caused widespread devastation in Goma. Studying the volcano is difficult given its location in a war torn area, former Royal Marine Aldo Kane is tasked to ensure the team is safe.
Wednesday 9pm – 10pm, BBC1
Darren Hudson was left paralysed from the waist down and wheelchair bound following cauda equina syndrome – a spinal cord injury. It took Darren three months of rehabilitation before he could return home. When he returned home, just 8 days later his wife Sarah tragically died without warning, leaving Darren as primary carer for his three sons. The family have been living with emotional trauma and Nick Knowles travels to their home in Hessle, East Yorkshire to transform it into a place fit for Darren. Have the tissues ready.
Thursday 8pm – 9pm, BBC1
Six famous faces pick up a paintbrush in this spin off of The Big Painting Challenge. Hosted by Mariella Frostrup, she is joined by Phil Tufnell, Jane Seymour, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Josie D’Arby and Amber Le Bon. The first challenge involves tackling the human form and capturing a nude Keith Allen on canvas.
Thursday 9pm – 10pm, ITV
An interesting and hard hitting documentary which follows a murder investigation, from the first ‘code blue’ call received by 999 operators through to the conviction of the killer. In Cardiff, detectives are called to a flat where a young women’s body has been found with six stab wounds. Her boyfriend is the key suspect and has gone missing, police are able to track his mobile phone to the Bristol area as he sends text messages to the victims family, he soon turns the phone off however.
Friday 9pm – 10.55pm, Film4
Based on Stephen King’s novel, this sci-fi thriller stars Samuel L Jackson and John Cusack. A mysterious signal is transmitted to every mobile phone in the world, causing anyone who hears it to turn In bloodthirsty maniacs. An unaffected writer seeks to track down his family and unlock the mystery behind the evil signal.
Saturday 8.40pm – 10.30pm, BBC1
It’s the live final of the singing contest. Emma Willis hosts as the remaining four contestants perform to win a recording contract. Coaches Olly Murs, Jennifer Hudson, Tom Jones and Will.i.am are there to support and lend a hand as the perform a duet with their respective contestant. The winner will be decided by the public vote.
Sunday 9pm – 10pm, Channel 4
New series in which a team of 12 famous faces join Ant Middleton in the Chilean Andes to undergo special forces training for this special charity event. The training begins with a backwards dive out of a helicopter and the first round of challenges include two versus one boxing. One recruit is also forced to confront their troubled past.
