The series follows the story of DI Colette Cunningham, a fearless police officer who commands respect from her colleagues at Merseyside Police Serious Crime Squad. However, her life takes a dramatic turn when she receives a call from Garda Sergeant Luke Byrne in Dublin informing her that the body of a young woman has been found and Colette is listed as the next of kin.

Despite not recognizing the victim’s name, Colette travels to Dublin to identify the body, only to discover that the deceased is her missing daughter, Kate. With grief consuming her every thought, Colette is determined to stay in Ireland to work for the Garda and uncover the events leading up to Kate’s death.
