The FA Cup, also known as the Football Association Challenge Cup, is an annual knockout football competition which attracts many lower-league football clubs across the UK . Each round is drawn randomly, with the first round featuring six teams from the seventh tier.
The draw for the second round was held on November 7th 2022, and included 40 teams of the prior round, including Alvechurch, the only seventh-tier team to have made it through. In the third round, 20 winners from the previous round – all 20 members of the Premier League – and the 24 EFL Championship clubs were included. The draw for the fourth round was held on January 8th 2023, and featured 32 winners from the previous round.
The fifth round draw took place on January 30th 2023, with the matches scheduled to take place in the week commencing February 27th 2023.
